Right off the Hwy is this pack bridge to start the trip off!
Lets get going!
The steam in this picture is from a hot springs coming out of the rocks.
I could not resist this sign! It was gone when we came out!!!!
Some big trees that burned in this area last year.
This river was just ROARING!! we camped right next to it in a great spot, but was to dark and wet for pictures!
This is what MOST of the trail was like...crawling over LOTS of burned and downed trees.
A couple of miles in this was a second pack bridge.
The moss was everywhere and rather cool to look at.
This is basically THE falls, the trail is on a very steep hillside, and it is really hard to get a good picture.
Each little ravine has really cool springs and moss.
Yep this mushroom was still living and I could not help but take this picture...!
This is lichen that was growing on the rocks above the falls.
This is looking back the way we came in, from near the falls.
Unlike the Bob Marshall this area had LOTS of Cedar trees and they we so neat to look at... it was hard to capture how pretty they were.
Morel Mushroom - we ate LOTS of these guys and brought home as many as we could carry!!
OH, theres the SUN!
I'm on the trail for YOU!
Lochsa River, from the bridge at the trail head.
Even at this time of the year the water was amazingly clear!
Same bridge we started on! Much prettier now in the sun!
Parking lot on the Hwy
Lochsa Lodge, this is a great place and only an hour outside of Missoula.
Until next time, Happy Trails!!!
